KITKAT may have only found its way onto 15% of phones....but its update is coming bigger.

 

Things you would like to know about the latest upcoming updates of ANDROID L:

User Interference

Google recently confirmed the update to its version of mobile operating system. This will enhance its design, performance and security. The update will be coming be the end of this year.

Android L, being the most popular mobile operating system will make it more user friendly user interference. The new interference will be based on a design language called Material design, will add more animations, shadows and white space in apps.
The on-screen navigation keys will also get a whole new look; the home, back and multitasking keys are now symbolised by a circle , triangle and square. And for the mole and desktop to look more uniform , Google will introduce a design language, Polymer.




3D Multitasking


The multitasking menu of this new version will be a 3D look. This is also courtesy material design and shows the app as overlapping cards with the help of “shadows and perspective,”  The 3D will also been seen when the user switch between tabs in Chrome browser in Android devices.
Enhanced notification



Notifications


Notifications will appear like Google now cards and will be accessible right from the lock screen. This will allow the users to see or dismiss notification without unlocking screen.
Heads-up Notification is an element that shows new notification on the top of the screen, irrespective of the apps running including full screen .This features will be implemented by third party developers, but will now be used in Google’s own apps as 

PC-like Graphics on mobile


Google introduced Android Extension Pack at the event. The technology focuses on enhancing graphics on mobile devices , making PC-like gaming on the Android devices. Key elements of Android Extension Pack are geometry and computer shaders with Android L release, tessellation and ASTC compression.

64-bit CPU support


Google has ensured that Android will supports 64-bit processors from next version which is available
on Apple. This means that addressable memory constraints are now lifted and Android devices will be able to make full use of the available RAM.


More Security


Android L will include the much –needed kill-switch that enables user to remotely reset their smartphone in case it is stolen or lost. In Secret mode, the device will not show any notification on the lock screen.
Security Patches will be released by Google be play service, which is updated on every six weeks to  ensure tight security.
Universal Data Control will allow users to get privacy settings for all apps from a single location.



Improved Battery  Life


Battery life will get a get a boost with Android L release, claims Google . As a part of project Volta , the company has been able to optimize that devices run 90 minute extra by switching off service that are nit crucial.






Better Enterprise Integration

The next update will allow user to manage their personal as well as official data on the same device. Companies will be able to manage and monitor work-related apps on android devices better now.
Samsung’s Knox software is also a part of the android L security setup and will help coporate data more secure.
